Effective communication is a vital aspect of any
ministry. Over the past few years the most effective outreach we have had is in
developing a personal one on one relationship with those who have needs. As we
share the love of Christ with a lost and dying world this message is reinforced
most effectively when we take the time out to invest in an individual life. The
sincerity of this type of personal ministry is desperately needed in a
generation that believes that they are not worth anyone's time or attention. One
young lady told us, "No one ever spent time with me". Other young
women have shared, "No one ever cared where I was going, or what I was
doing." We lead very busy lives and we communicate value and appreciation
by the giving of our time and efforts. There is no substitute for that precious
gift of time and attention. Relationships take time to build, but that is how
God's kingdom will grow and be healthy. Each of us is gifted with special
abilities that will benefit the lives we come in contact with. (Ephesians 4:16)
We are finding that communicating the services and needs of Jesus Cares
Ministries in the community is also best done on a more personal level. Many
times, we have shared the vision of the ministry with Pastors and leaders.
Though we know they are deeply concerned about those who are hurting and desire
to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem, it seems many will
not get involved without having a relationship with someone in the ministry. It
is hard to get involved in a work when you know so little about the lives of
those who are doing the work. Those who know us on a personal level have called
for our help or taken action to respond to the needs of the ministry because
they know us. Good communication helps to make others aware of the work of the
ministry and the needs of the people we serve. We have had more success as we
share our concerns with those who know and care for us. People who know us will
be more open to hear from us and take action. Godly relationships help to build
and develop strength in ministry.
This is where we need your help. Please share the enclosed information with
friends, relatives and even your pastor. Many families in the community are in
need of some form of encouragement and direction. Pastors are always looking for
godly alternatives to the world's challenges and problems. One young lady we
worked with was initially referred to a secular agency that did everything they
could to destroy this young lady's trust in God. The agency was very
Anti-Christ, yet, her pastor referred her to this secular program. Please take a
few extra minutes to share the enclosed information with those you know. Allow
us to be of service the next time a crisis pregnancy or teen crisis arises. Help
us as we seek to build relationships in our community with those who have a
burden for abortion prevention, family values, crisis pregnancy intervention,
and teen delinquency prevention. The program outline can be faxed to any
interested organizations. Thank you for your help. Family and friends are making
it happen as we see lives change and the vision grow as God supplies.
